Committees

 
The Lord Baltimore Women's Club proudly supports many local organizations. Support can be provided through monetary donations, in-kind donations and members volunteering their time and working on various committees.
ANGEL JAR
 
Members contribute money to the “Angel Jar” during a three-month meeting cycle. Three designated local non-profits a year are chosen to be the recipients of the “Angel Jar” donations.

BEACH & BAY COTTAGE TOUR
  
The Beach and Bay Cottage Tour is held annually in July and supports the South Coastal Library. Members volunteer as tour house hosts during this event.

FUNDRAISING
  
Members participate in many fundraisers throughout the year. Bake Sale, Dine Around Raffle, Bowling Tournament, Dine & Donate, Clayton Movie Theater, Fall Flower Sale, Quilt Raffle
 
      LBWC Team Strike for a Cause
COMMUNITY SERVICE
 
Identify Sussex County non-profit community organizations, i.e., first responders, military group(s), libraries, food bank etc. that need assistance.  Members determine how our club can help them through monetary andnon-monetary donations.

CONSERVATION
  
Members assist with specific local conservation efforts such as Adopt a Highway, The Center for Inland Bays, James Farm Ecological Preserve, Bethany Beach Nature Center, and Delaware Botanic Gardens.

SCHOLARSHIP
 
The committee annually awards scholarships to Sussex County high school students. Scholarship recipients and parents are invited to the June luncheon meeting.
EDUCATION 
 
Member liaisons support one of Sussex County Elementary and Middle Schools through annual budgeted monetary donations.  Goods donations are also accepted as well as member volunteers for individual school events and programs.

KNITTING & CROCHETING
  
This community service group meets once a month.  Members knit and crochet amultitude of items that are distributed to local organizations.
 
      Over 304 items, including over 214 hats and over 70 afghans!
      Many scarves, some shawls and one very adorable child’s sweater.
MEMBERSHIP
  
The chairperson works with the Executive Board and members to maintain all aspects of club membership.
NEWSLETTER
  
The editor provides monthly electronic newsletters to members.This includes gathering event and committee information from members and distributing the newsletter each month.
 
      Keeping members updated on all the works that we do monthly.
PLANNING COMMITTEE
 
This committee consists of members who discuss and facilitate ideas on fundraising, member support and community partnership.
PUBLICITY
 
Provide information and relevant pictures to state and local media about Lord Baltimore Women’s Club activities and events.
SOCIAL MEDIA
 
The chairperson currently serves as Lord Baltimore Women’s Club Facebook Page Administrator.
SUNSHINE COMMITTEE
 
The chairperson identifies and follows up on any information about club members who are ill, hospitalized, having rehabilitation, or who may have died. Member are encouraged to “Spread Sunshine” through correspondences with members or members' families.
 
Fran Slahetka was one of our longest term members.
NAME TAG GREETER 
 
Monitors and encourages members to wear their name tag at monthly meetings so that other members can readily identify them.
 
      All monies collected go into The Angel Jar
VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS
 
The coordinators work with and identify members who wish to volunteer for the clubs’ varied committees. They facilitate the new member mentors and work with the committee chairperson mentoring program.
WEBSITE COORDINATOR
 
Members update and maintain the club’s website. The committee works with the Publicity and Social Media Chairpersons to add content.
50/50
 
Every Meeting we hold a 50/50 and the proceeds go into the Angel Jar.
 
 
      We choose three charities a year and donate to them.
